PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Industry organizations serve a unique and worthy purpose in American business, creating a forum in which competitors are encouraged to act cooperatively for the benefit of all. Along the way, the individuals who participate in these shared activities are rewarded with an opportunity to influence industry policy and decisions, and, at the same time, gain greater skills as well as insights into the issues they face daily.

In the AICP, there are myriad avenues for participation on both the local and national levels. National Committees oversee ongoing matters like labor negotiation or government relations as well as address short-term specific goals such as developing business tools for the industry or overseeing Association activities. Chapter programs offer exposure to the latest technology, plus information on local regulations or available facilities and services. Through local and national events, both business and social, and by participating in research projects and on boards and committees, members learn more about their business, and develop new contacts while they contribute to the well-being of the industry itself.
