INDUSTRY RELATIONS

Commercial production is one of many links in the complex advertising industry chain. As in any business, success hinges on relationships companies have with their clients and colleagues. The AICP maintains close relations with other advertising trade organizations to convey production's perspective, to understand the position of others in the industry, and to win cooperation on issues of mutual interest. Coalition activities with the AAAA, AMP, ANA, AICE, MPAA, AMPTP, ITS and AFCI* and others, both local and national, have enabled the AICP to achieve benefits for members that might otherwise have been unattainable or taken many more years to accomplish alone, e.g. direct payment by agencies for editorial services.

Through relationships with the production committees of the AAAA and the ANA, as well as individually with major agencies and advertisers, the AICP has opened doors to communication with production's most important clients. Additionally, to even the balance in these relationships, when disputes arise, the Association provides a Grievance Review Board to assist in the resolution by acting as an intermediary when members request it, and when circumstances warrant such action.
