October 26th: Digital Day

Digital Day will be made up of two distinct segments: the Workflow Workshop and AICP Digital Conference.

Registration opens at 9:00am

Both days of the AICP Conference will offer access to the Workflow Pavilion (held in the hall where the breakfasts, lunches and breaks will take place), highlighting the best in cameras, hardware, software and content management.

To lead off the conference and Digital Day, there will be a full workshop, featuring a panel of experts in the Pavilion discussing the basics of capturing and handling digital assets from production through the post process. This session is aimed at generalists in management roles, and will help decision-makers in understanding much of the emerging technology, and how to make wise choices in managing assets.

Roundtable workshop/panel: Spotlight on Digital Filmmaking: How New On-Set Tools and Techniques are Transforming Commercial Production, presented by International Cinematographers Guild (ICG)
Digital technologies are impacting all facets of commercial filmmaking, from story development and execution to production workflows, crewing and scheduling. What are some of the most innovative new cameras and tools and the best ways to harness their creative potential? Does shooting with DSLRs alter the professional content creation process, including lighting, and if so, how? What crew positions are essential for efficient digital production and what roles do the camera assistant and digital imaging technician play in capturing, safeguarding and delivering the image as intended? Learn from two leading ICG directors of photography how they use digital technologies to help the agency and director shine the best light on their clients' products and services. The discussion will then move into, You Got the Shot, Now What? With the huge amount of data collected on set and location, some of the industry's leaders in digital and data asset management and postproduction will discuss the proper handling of these pieces, the possibilities for creating dailies, and how to ensure that the assets are safeguarded and readied for post and finishing.
