Robert W Miller has been a prolific composer in film, television, and the concert hall for over 27 years. He received formal training at the Mannes College of Music in New York City, and received private mentoring from American Master Aaron Copland as well as composers William Schuman and Edgar David Grana. Robert’s work has been featured in over 2,400 commercials, 65 film scores, two television series, and numerous works for the concert hall and stage. Among Robert’s work in film, are several collaborations with legendary editor, Walter Murch, documentarian Eugene Jarecki, ten time Emmy award winning director Jon Hock, legendary director Steven Spielberg (in an executive producer role) and Oscar winning director Thomas Lennon. In 2017, Robert collaborated with choreographer, Troy Schumacher, on a new ballet entitled “The Wind Still Brings” for the New York City Ballet fall opening Gala. Robert has also a long standing creative relationship with Neil deGrasse Tyson and The American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium having scored four Space Shows since 2008. His work on commercials has garnered him 2 AICPs, 7 CLIOs, 2 two Emmy “group” nominations and several British television and ADDY awards. In 2016, Robert founded music production company, ScreenSound Alliance (New York/Chicago) and is currently working on an expanded global partnership called Brains In Glass.
