Adcenter Selected to Develop
Ad Campaign for 2005 AICP Show
The assignment is a departure for the association which in the past has used the services of freelance creative directors or advertising agencies to promote the Show’s Call for Entries and ticket sales. “The AICP Show is about excellence in execution,” said AICP President and CEO Matt Miller. “We saw this as a great opportunity to bring a fresh young approach to our advertising as well as a way to convey in a concrete manner our dedication to nurturing the next generation of creatives-a winning step for all sides.”
Adcenter Director Rick Boyko concurs. “Giving students the opportunity to work on real-world campaigns for real-world clients adds a significant element to their education that they can't get anywhere else. Learning how to work, present and deal with clients is an on-the-job learning experience that is invaluable.”
Taking on responsibility for the campaign are student art directors Suhad Zraik of Syracuse, NY, and Lee Jennings of Altavista, VA, and student copywriters Ian Fairbrother of Townsend, MA, and Brett Reese of Toledo, OH. They are under the direction of Coz Cotzias, Associate Professor, Copywriting, and Cabell Harris, Associate Professor, Art Direction, both of whom are serving as account creative directors.
Established in 1992, in cooperation with MoMA, the AICP Show recognizes excellence in commercial filmmaking, focusing on technical expertise and the artistic application of that expertise. The honored commercials are made part of the permanent archives of the museum’s Department of Film and Media. This year’s premiere and gala will return to MoMA following a four-year hiatus to accommodate the museum’s multi-million dollar reconstruction and expansion, and during which time the AICP Show debuted at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
