Performing on stage at Wembley Arena in front of 15,00 people at first may seem a million miles away from the life of a media planner. But Liam MacManus thrives on being the exception to the rule.
His transformation from professional drummer to leading the Nike global business for Mindshare, highlights how skills learnt from one industry can be applied to another.
A proactive and creative individual, Liam joined Mindshare WW in 2008 and established an accelerated career arc with the ability to adapt and inspire.
Liam transferred to the APAC hub in Singapore in 2010 as Regional Digital Director, spent 4 four months in Sydney as part of the successful Unilever pitch and amongst other achievements, was named Campaign Asia Media Planner of the Year in 2011.
In 2012, Liam joined Team Nike in Portland, OR, where he led the global media planning for the successful 2014 World Cup campaign, “Risk Everything”, earning a Media Gold Lion at Cannes 2015 along the way.
In early 2016, Liam took over as Global Partner for Team Nike and now leads the fast-growing Portland office.
An effective team player with an approachable and enthusiastic manner, he is able to achieve a strong rapport with clients and colleagues.
Liam can still be found playing shows with his Portland-based band.
