After a brief stint in consumer publishing, Roberta made the transition to entertainment and advertising trade publishing, overseeing four publications for the domestic and international cable and television industries, before becoming the first publisher of SHOOT Magazine in 1990 which had just been spun off from Back Stage.  After running SHOOT for 14 years for a global media company, she made the bold (crazy) move to acquire it in January 2005 convincing her husband who also has a publishing background to be her partner.

SHOOT Magazine,, the SHOOT>e.dition and SHOOT Publicity Wire are authoritative industry resources for ad agency creatives & producers, commercial & entertainment production/post decision-makers at companies, movie studios, networks, OTT services and brands. Covering news, great work, trends, creative techniques/applications and talent, SHOOT provides timely relevant information including behind-the-scenes looks at the best new work and the talented people and technology behind the work. Discovering new talent is an important part of SHOOT's ongoing mission and SHOOT holds its annual New Directors Showcase every May at the DGA in NYC.
