Yvette Cobarrubias is Co-Founder and a Managing Partner of award-winning post production studio, Cosmo Street Editorial (www.cosmostreet.com). Over the course of two decades, she and fellow Co-Founder/Managing Partner Tom Scherma, as well as Partner/EP Maura Woodward, expanded Cosmo Street from a small operation to an internationally-recognized bicoastal creative powerhouse with five locations, a sister company in London and a roster of 30 plus diverse, innovative and acclaimed artists. The company’s services include editorial, VFX, color, animation/motion and graphic design. Its collective body of work routinely moves the needle in commercial content creation, documentary features, music videos and narrative projects.
Yvette has led Cosmo Street’s partnership with such top agencies and clients as American Express, Microsoft, Google,NY Times, Coca Cola, Budweiser, Samsung, Apple, Nike, Mercedes, Sony PlayStation, Toyota, Burger King, and T Mobile among others. In addition to her advertising credits, she has served as EP, post producer, associate producer or contributing post house on manifold successful film projects, including the critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning “Florida Project;” “Love Liza,” starring Philip Seymour Hoffman; Ron Howard’s Project Imagination/Canon Films, written and directed by Jaime Foxx "And she was my Eve" and the female-focused Glamour Films/Reel Moments series, directed by Demi Moore, Jessica Biel, Courtney Cox, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kristen Dunst, Olivia Wilde and Zoe Saldana. She also executive produced “SPF 18,” directed by multimedia artist Alex Israel, as well as co-produced 2 upcoming films that are being released later this year, Layer of Lies and HKLS.
Yvette has a long history of giving back. She served on the International Board of AICE, the post production trade association, for two decades, while also serving as President of its Los Angeles Chapter. She continued in a leadership role after the association merged with AICP, and now serves on its National Board of Directors as well as VP on its West Chapter Board. She’s an active participant on AICP’s Equity & Inclusion Committee and serves on its Post Council and awards committees. Most recently, she was selected as Chairperson for the 2022 AICP Post Awards.
Yvette has produced, coordinated, and judged large-scale awards shows. And she’s no stranger to the winners’ circle as well, as she and Cosmo Street have been recognized by such prestigious industry competitions as Cannes, Clios, the One Show and many others. She is a member of the Television Academy Commercial Executive Peer Group, and sits on the board of Green the Bid, and WIF committee. She also acts as a mentor with several programs and initiatives, including Women Who Create, and co-founded the AICP Women's Forum, a series of informational and inspirational seminars aimed at fostering a culture of achievement for women in the industry. She is a tireless advocate for supporting women across all areas of film and video production and post. To this end, Cosmo Street is a proud participant in Free the Work, and is a certified WBENC/MBE business.
Yvette resides in Santa Monica, CA with her three children and pandemic puppy, and can be most often found working in her backyard bar while listening to the Rolling Stones.
