Omnicom has released a new version of its Motion Picture Production Agreement (“MPPA”), and Omnicom agencies (such as BBDO, DDB, TBWA/Chiat, etc.) have begun using this revised agreement for their productions. The last version of the MPPA was introduced in early 2020 but put on hiatus during the pandemic. AICP has provided input since the inception of the MPPA, in tandem with Roberta Wolff, who heads up the AICP Legal Initiative, and Robert L. Sacks of Ellenoff Grossman & Schole, AICP’s Legal Counsel.
This month’s Focused Forum will feature an overview of this agreement to point out nuances and provisions that have not always been standard, including how to avoid potential pitfalls and amend problematic provisions for your production.
