My entire career (except for the few years I was a musician-but really, who wasn’t?) was spent serving in the back offices of Entertainment and Film Production. In 2012, I partnered with NEED Financial Services to form NEED New York LLC where I have been the Managing Partner for the past seven years. I consult on a wide variety of business affairs and focus on New Business and Client Relations for businesses in the Media space. Prior to NEED, I was CFO of Epoch Media Group for over 20 years. As for my educational background, after several years studying percussion with luminaries from the NYC Ballet and Met Opera-and a couple of harrowing years at Manhattan School of Music-I graduated from City University of New York (CUNY) Baruch College, with a BS in Arts Administration where I combined all I learned in the performing arts with all I learned in business.
I have had the pleasure of serving on the AICP East Board as an Associate member for four terms and have been a member of several AICP sub-committees, including the Town Hall and Women’s Forum sub-committees.
In addition to my company, I have helped work/raise funds for assorted independent film projects and look forward to continuing to support the arts in general.
Outside of our business, I have been very much involved in the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ advocacy group and lobbying organization in the US.
Finally, I spend an inordinate amount of time calculating how much I need to retire, and therefore am very pleased to be moderating this panel!
